WOW! It says online that one sold for over $650! This one isn't in perfect condition as it has a lot of flaws, but does anyone know where the best place to sell this is?

Oh I just figured it was Denmark because it says "Denmary" on it. I am so new to coins, lol.. it looks like (and yes the condition is a bit worse in my case):

Ah, British Guinea.. Well people are selling it between 45 and 155 for the coin so it isn't what I thought it'd be according to the other website but still, not bad!

It's "British Guiana", not "British Guinea". Guinea is in Africa, Guiana is in South America.

The coin that was sold on icollector is a "proof", a coin made especially for collectors. A circulation strike of this coin would be less valuable, especially in worn or damaged condition.

Here's the catalogue listing for your coin; as you can see, the proof is listed considerably higher than the regular issue, even in high grades.

Hmmmm, that's quite nasty damage the poor thing's got, especially on the obverse. Being from an odd obsolete country might help give it some appeal with the "one from every country" collectors, but I wouldn't think it would be worth more than $5-$10 in this condition.

Sorry.

Hey no problem :) I'd rather have it straight from you than try to use my little experience on it :)
