Maybe I can get some help here. I have a 1943d steel penny which I believe is a strong ms65.it has the double d in the date. It also has a strong double 4 which sits a little lower and to the right. It is a high grade coin so the doubling can be seen by the naked eye. Anyone have a past experience with this or is it unique. I have found no information on this error. Truly could be a very rare strike. Thank you
Sounds to me like one of those very common cases of die wear that causes a shadow doubling on the outside edge of the 4 of the date and the mintmark. If this is so, no premium value, and they are quite common. Also, they are not errors.
