Hello,

I was wondering if anyone could help me identifying this coin. It is dated 1561 and I think its a three or six pence but I'm not totally sure. The writing round the outside differs from most I have found. it says 'd. g. m.' instead of 'd. g. ang.'

if anyone could help at all it would be much appreciated

Hello and welcome.

I'm afraid that the reason your coin differs so markedly from pics of other Elizabeth I coins you might find on the Internet, is that your coin is a modern replica. It appears to be the same kind of replica that peacelove posted in this thread.

Sorry.

ok thats cool.

Thank you very much for the help. My grandad found it on the street and wanted to know if it had any value but I assume it is pretty worthless then.

How much is a real one of these? Are they rare?
