Yes, NGC charges you extra if your Russian coin was manufactured before 1835 and if it is... well you get the idea, we have to send it out to get it graded. I am asking myself at this point, did I pick the wrong grading company? PCGS doesn't charge more for any Russian coin and I sort of get the feeling that I am being steered in that direction when it comes to the older Russian coins. I want my collection to be in the same holder for presentation purposes. For all I know they send it off to PCGS and crack it out when they get it back. With the extra charge they are still making money.
