I love coins with history. I'm not big on late date large cents but when I saw this I couldn't resist.   This would go under the heading of my favorite coin. At the moment until I look at another one.

Love the coin! I really like the cents from 1840 to 1844 for some reason. They are supposed to be common but I just never really see a lot of them and in high grade they just seem to have some special look to them.

bigfredd, in answer to your "lacquered or not" question, I worked on a couple of pictures. I used a diffuser for these, and it lost some color but shows the state of the coin better.   Thank you for the encouragement. It is good to get a push from time to time to improve. I'll keep working on it.
