i know this is probably a silly question but can anyone tell me how many dots there are supposed to be on the head side of the coin I have one of them which is supposed to be a small bead or is there any other way to find out I'm having trouble sending a pic but will try later on........thanks roy

I do not know how many there are supposed to be but I do know that there is a small bead and Large bead Variety. the small bead variety is the most desirable

The small bead variety has the letter "I" in the word "REGINA" pointing directly at one of the beads around the outer edge of the coin. For the large bead variety the "I" points between 2 of the beads.

The Charlton catalogue says there are probably fewer than 500 of the small bead variety in existence.

supposedly the 1966 sm. beads was produced by a few mint employees hoping to make a quick buck by smuggling a few 1966 dollars they had minted and selling them at a later time. They are EXTREMELY EXTREMELY rare and you would be looking at a price above $3000 Canadian in MS-63
