so is it worth anything not that I am selling just wondering if this is a common thing old die Struck Through Grease or something not so. it was my understanding there are people who's job it is to make sure these thing dont get out of the mint?

Struck Through Grease is very common, more so on coins from the '40's and '50's. You'll find all kinds of things like this and die cracks, die chips and Cuds. Not worth a premium unless it's really dramatic.
