It could be one of a few emperors from early Rome, its definitely real though and around 2000 years old. If you can read any of the text around the bust it would help in getting an absolute ID. bobbyhelmet Pillar of the Community United Kingdom 2838 Posts	Posted 09/03/2011 1:24 pm Yeah - certainly something like that, its a commonish reverse so looking at a few emperors around Vitellius in time may also show some very close matches. It looks like you could maybe make out about 8 characters around the head with the coin in hand, I've tried but its always difficult from a picture. bobbyhelmet Pillar of the Community United Kingdom 2838 Posts	Posted 09/08/2011 10:01 pm Haha, get it spent, you cant take it with you! Those cheapy microscopes are good, I have one too but must admit that sometimes they are not the best for these kinds of jobs. Try shining the microscopes light onto the coin from all different angles and just use the naked eye, I'm often amazed by what just jumps out at me when doing this. Report this Post to the Staff
