I discovered an envelope containing a a few old coins left to me by my mother. In that envelope were also 10 poll tax tokens from Mississippi made of a silver color metal. Are these of any monetary value or merely historic value?
There are a few threads on tax tokens (try the search box on the upper left). My understanding is that they are pretty collectible, but most are common enough that they're not particularly valuable. I don't think they contain precious metals of any kind either.
