I believe if it were me, I would want someone from the mint to explain exactly what caused this at this time and how one goes about reactivating the order. As I understand it you can still order but you stand in line waiting for someone to return a set and then have it shipped to you. No harm in calling and finding out the answers.

Today I just found out from the mint that my American Eagle Gold Anniversary set is finally going to ship. I originally had problems with the credit card I used to order,so I changed it and my order was on hold since October 6. I spoke to the mint many times and I was told that it was "flagged for cancellation". Every time I called I was told that there was nothing they could do to help me. After about 20 different phone calls I finally got someone on the phone who was willing to help. They told me back in mid October that if they can reprocess my order I may receive it in 6 to 8 weeks. I was surprised to see that my credit card was charged and I am finally going to receive my set.

My advice to you is call the mint and be persistent, it seemed to work for me.

Spider that was exactly what happened to me. The card that was used expires 29 days after the order was placed. They said there was nothing they can do now that they are sold out !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rest in Peace

Crikey and I thought we had a problem with our Mint here down under. You make our Mint staff look like kindergarten kids compared to your university graduates. It doesn't get any worse than letting your cards expire before processing your order. Best of luck with your order. regards.

Forgive me for being uneducated on the topic, but what exactly is in an ASE set? Is it all the Silver Eagles from 1986 through 2006, or is it a special anniversary set consisting of certain Silver Eagles minted for 2006, or is it something else?

The ASE set is the 20th Aniversary Silver Eagle Set. It consists of 1 American Silver Eagle Proof Coin, 1 American Silver Eagle Uncirculated Coin and 1 American Silver Eagle Reverse Proof.

Laxmaster92, they told me the same stuff, one even suggested I get them on ebay. I honestly called multiple times a day for 3 weeks.

My order still has not shipped, but it does not say anything about cancellation. I know it is sold out, but are old orders placed in September that show no signs of problems still going to ship? I feel like I read somewhere that this is the case, but I guess that I just have to worry about something. Let me know if this is not the case. Again, the order was placed on Sept. with a credit card that expires in '07. Thanks.

jcook54, I wouldn't worry. As long as your card isn't going to expire soon. My experience with the anniversary set is not over yet, I have yet to receive it, eventhough my card has been charged. I'll cross my fingers for monday. As for my ASE order It still says "will ship on 12/8/06".

My order for 2 ASE sets still says "expected to ship 12/8". What the heck is going on with the mint? Why can't they get the coins out the door? I have 3 orders that are back ordered...
