An add in an outdoors magazine is selling Morgan silver dollars. They claim to have found a "very small quantity of these unique, historic, and scarce New Orleans Mint Silver 'O' Morgans". No where in this add is the condition or year of the coins mentioned. Here is the fun part: Only $69.95 +s/h each!

Seems a bit much for a Morgan that could be a junk common date piece. Anyone interested?

Their target audience is not collectors - it is a member of the general public that knows nothing about coin collecting, or that circulated O-mint dollars are available by the ton at a bit over half of their asking price. Notice that the ad is in an outdoors magazine, not a numismatic magazine!

No company will do this as a money losing proposition. You can be assured that whatever coins you get are worth less than the price they are asking.

they are obviously minted by the US Gov't Mint. however there are many businesses out there with the same kind of names that have no official connection to the US MINT...its a mere advertising scam to sell over inflated prices to NON COLLECTORS...
