Got my eye on this 1885-S Morgan and just wondering if you all think it has been cleaned. I don't believe it has but I am no expert at telling if one has been cleaned on not, Thanks....

I think it's OK. The lighting makes it look a bit "bright." Not a bad coin, high AU as described, fair price for both seller and buyer.

That is my concern SuperDave. The coin just seems to shiny to me.

Well, the possibility does exist. No photograph which doesn't show evidence of cleaning can be considered conclusive proof that it wasn't cleaned. What I don't see is, anything at all left clinging in tight corners, and unless it was polished on a bench buffer, something would be left to see.

I do not think it looks cleaned. Still has the glare from the cartwheel luster.

It doesn't look cleaned to me either. Just has a bit of awkward lighting is all.

Looks OK but when buying AU it is probably best to stay away from coins that look overly bright. Won't add much value and there will always be a question as to whether it is a circulated coin that has been dipped.

Looks like it may be OK but there is the chance that the lighting hid the signs of cleaning.

Does look good, but agree, glare makes it questionable...

Thanks all for your opinions. I decided to pass on this one, something about the coin just doesn't feel right to me. I'll just have to keep looking.
