so I responded to a trade someone had, which I am allowed to do based on posts and such but when the person responded back with what he wanted he said he wanted paypal. Is that allowed? I thought the selling feature was gotten rid of on this sight and it was changed to what it is now, just links to sales on ebay and such. Is what the guy did wrong? Should it be reported? Just curious for future reference. Thanks

The sell feature is still there its part of the CCF auction page called PIN
http://www.coincommunity.com/forum/auction.asp

If something is up for trade then you should be asked to trade for the item not pay for it.
By posting here I believe you have reported it. I am sure a mod will be along in a while to help you out..

yeah it is a lot different then the sales page used to be though. Where is this sales page you posted a link to on the "all forums" list?

that page linked is for the PIN/CCR Auctions, scroll down a little and you see the coins for sale. the top part is links for specific coin types

this is the email I just received from the guy when I asked if he would trade his silver dollars for some of my coins and when I told him I thought you couldn't sell things using paypal in the trade forum,

Quote:
paypal style is still allowed on the CCF transactions. I'm trading the coins for cash.
I'm not too fond of the new "pocket-it-now" forum so I'm advertising on the "trade" section.
I also accept check or money order if you decide you want those silver dollars.

Trading for cash is not trading it is selling. This seems wrong to me. The guy has a few items up for "sale" in the trade forum.

Nohope is correct. "Trading for cash" is selling. Items posted in the Trade section can only be traded for other items, not cash. Items for sale can be listed in the Auction/PIN section only. I have emailed the member that you attempted to trade with.
