I personally dont like the cold weather much but its really the only time I go through boxes of change to find some goodies. I guess I'm just really busy in the spring summer and part of fall. In the winter I mostly stay home due to the cold and roads. And because I mostly stay at home in the winter I have more money to be able to get boxes of change to look through. So first snow first box .

the coin shows I go to stop in the summer months, I slowed down a bit on roll searching in the summer time too. Time to buckle down, as the band Cinderella once said
"its gonna be a long cold winter"

By me coin shows and flea markets with coins go on all year long. Wind, rain, snow, Sun, makes no difference.

I'm in Southern California, so I don't have to worry about the cold, but that is the time I really get back into my favorite way to find old coins... metal detecting. Sure I could do it in the summer too, but I hate being out in 90 degree heat digging holes in the sun so I get lazy. In the winter when it is in the 60s and 70s I love trying to find silver coins, wheats, and older nickels in parks. When I find a Merc, Liberty nickel, etc. it is a thrill and I love thinking about how someone 50...60...even 100 years or more ago lost that coin, and there it sat until I found it!
