I have checked several sources and have not been able to find this inscription. Usually this coin is inscribed: D.G. MAX IOS.U.B.D.S.R.I.A.&El.L.L. This coin is: D.G. MAX IOS.U.B.D.S.R.I.A.&EL.L.
I wonder if this is just a variasion or and error?

Hi Ron
Can we get what the coin is ? and the country its from ,, I do not recognise the inscription .
Why would your image not load ? Check your file name for characters other than numbers and letters,, and make sure the file size is below 100KB and it should load up.

Sorry, old age creeping in again. The coin is a Thaler from Bavaria dated 1767. The inscription is: D.G.Maximilian Joseph Duke of both Bavarias Archdapifer & Elector of S.R.I. Landgrave of Leuchtenberg.
The images are less than 100k, they loaded but are not showning. Ron

I believe this is the picture you're trying to link to? All the examples illustrated in Krause for the period (yes, this is one section where Krause has actually supplied lots of illustrations ) show the legend as (from the ampersand) "&EL.L.L" - three L's. Yours certainly seems to be missing an "L" there - a variety listed neither in Krause, nor my 1982 edition of the Davenport catalogue of crowns and thalers. Unfortunately, they're the only references I have for the series, so that's all I know.
