I found a Nebraska quarter with a P mint mark and I noticed the edge was completely silver colored. Not even the slightest trace of a clad sandwich.I don't have a scale so I tried dropping it on its side and definitely doesn't have that silver chime to it.I tried to do my research but found nothing. Any answers? Thanks.

It is almost certainly plated- State Quarters have been plated in silver, gold, and platinum by the millions. A weight of the coin accurate to 0.1g will be much more telling than pictures.

It could be silver plated, or it could be a silver proof that got out into circulation. Though I would lay money on the plated. Thats the most likely.

A friend of mine had a "subscription" to QVC during the era of the State Quarters to get each one in silver plate, gold plate, and platinum plate. He got really mad when QVc cancelled the program due to lack of demand, so he never got the set completed.

There is zero chance that it is a silver proof- the coin has a P mintmark

No definitely not a proof. Thanks everyone for the input. I thought they only made gold plated State Quarters.

Oh duh, yeah, I did NOT think that one through. The whole P mm thing. Yeah, OK, I am going to go into the corner now and play with my blocks.
