I have about a dozen or so clad Roosevelt dimes that have a small Cud on the obverse on the base of the neck of president roosevelt. The Cud is located above the mint mark and in a few cases it kind of bends around the mint mark. I know I know

the problem is that I don't have a very good way to get them on here. I can try with my scanner, but odds are they won't capture the coin enough to get what we need to see. I did a quick google images check and saw some on there that looked like what I have. Are these worth any premium. I have all different dates from the 80's and up to 06. I might try to put together a little date set of these since they don't seem all too rare. Anyone have any information on them? I found this thread from a while back which has the Cud on the dime.

well, for one thing I can tell you its not a Cud, Cuds start at the rim, and crawl up the rim and go outwards ad the die breaks more and more, the Cud gets more severe. what you have is a die chip, which is much more common die to the fact that they are not as easily spotted as a Cud, so the dies dont get replaced as quickly.

I have three of those and Adam is right they arent Cuds, but I still think they are cool. I dont know if they have any premium or not.

thanks a lot guys anyone else have any information on these. I like the look of them. Lots of really cool things I find when searching dimes
I also have found a huge die crack that runs across the whole dime across Roosevelt's face. It looks really really cool.
I plan on keeping these but wondered if anyone else has really noticed them
thanks for the definition of a Cud
