Hello all,
Just wanted to say today I feel like I have gone from a hobby collecting to coin collector. I went out and got my first boxes of 2x2 coin flips. :)
I have spent half the day getting them out of my coin albums and into the flips and stapling them closed.
They look much better now but I am needing to get a few more sizes.
I got 3 boxes of Australian $1, 50c, and 20c.
I filled almost all of them and used left overs for some american coins I had.
Thanks for taking the time to hear my ramble.

Congratulations Gecko on your promotion from hobbyist to numismatist. But it could mean that some 'friends' might call you Geeko now!

Did you use flat staples or just regular ones?

Takes more time but looks a lot better if you seal the edges with tape.

Yeah I have a lot of different staples but I found the flattest ones I had.
I also got a 30x loupe while I was there too!
I didnt want to use tape as I didnt want the risk of residue coming off of it.
But wow they look like a real collection now!
Everything facing the right way and sitting straight!
Rest in Peace

You can always ise a pair of flat pliers to flatten the staples so they don't catch on the mylar (or your fingers).

with biggfredd. Unless you're using a flat-clinch stapler or you plan on removing the staples again in the near future, clamp 'em down with pliers.

Just don't make the same mistake I made when I was a new collector, and use a hammer to flatten the staples.
