is 26.61 g close enough for a Morgan dollar that probably grades at VF-EF?

My BU 1899 weighs in at 26.64

or I guess at what weight should one become concerned?

26.64 is good for Worn coins !

Optimal weight = 26.73 For New Mode

But what is the % error I should look for? At what weight +/- should I be concerned on legitimacy of the coin?

Standard planchet weight for 1840-1935 Silver Dollars(not including Trade) is 412.5 grains with a tolerance of +/-1.5 grains.

And if your scale doesn't have a hrain setting the specs in grams is 26.73 grams +/- .097 grams.
