Good idea - stick to the people you trust

Here are a couple of die matches to the coin you posted:

http://www.forgerynetwork.com/asset...TJxFdyjHZFw=
http://www.forgerynetwork.com/asset...aXh~x~KMt7M=

I checked the reverses and they certainly match, perhaps the tool has been altered slightly around the chair back on one of them. Didn't check the obverses as I was already certain.

Here is another copy from the same die for sale on vcoins for $1500:

http://www.vcoins.com/certifiednumi...dProduct=141

Any seller can pass the odd low value fake onto a customer but if a dealer is selling something worth $1500 they should have the decency to at least spend an hour in the internet looking for known fakes. Serious thumbs down for the vcoins seller, anyone know what the procedure is for reporting fakes on vcoins?

Bobbyhelmet is correct. This is a fake! I know, I have a very nice looking coin just like it. If this coin is being offered by a Vcoins dealer, notify him that you suspect the coin as a fake. Most, if not all, dealers on Vcoins, subscribe to a high ethical standard. Once notified, if he does not remove the coin or give reason why the coin should be accepted as genuine, then he becomes suspect as well.

I do not know the procedure for notifying Vcoins, but I'm sure I can find out. Keep us informed as to what happens.

While you are waiting look at the other offerings of the same seller and see if you think this is the only one.

looked at the sellers other coins and must say I have serious doubts about them but not been able to find any die matches as of yet so keeping an openish mind. Not many coins on offer and all high value, always makes me suspicious. Will have another quick look now.

I thought the same when I looked. All very high dollar and some look suspicious. But like Bobbyhelmet, I haven't put my finger on any one in particular yet.

FYI - the vcoins seller never got back to me - hes had more than long enough.

I would consider all of his items dodgy now.
