I was looking at the mint marks on my worn Barber quarters. Why is the O MM over the D in Dollar & the D MM is more the the left? Is this normal?

Normal, yes. Up until 1895 (I think) mintmarks on Barber quarters were in two basic locations: centered under the tail and at the far right next to the arrow feathers. The centered mintmark variety is generally worth more. After 1895 the location was standardized at the position shown on your Denver coin.
