1936 Canadian Cent With Dot Variety

gerryman New Member Canada 7 Posts	Posted 09/20/2011 2:30 pm * Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. * I have a 1936 Canadian 1cent with the dot below the date.It is not in the middle below and in between the 3 and 6.I know that one is rare.But the one I have is below the date under the 6 to the right.Has anyone heard of this variety.Thank you for your help. Colhand1 Pillar of the Community United States 629 Posts	Posted 09/22/2011 12:36 pm I have to imagine that you have a coin with a dot added to a regular 1936 dated coin. Since you would have to be able to stamp in the dot with out causing distortion to the rest of the field, these dots had to be glued/soldered on somehow and then the surrounding area was rubbed to make it look like it was part of the normal field. The placement of the dot was off but then they were applied by hand I guess. Just needed to cheat one guy one time to make your money. Report this Post to the Staff

Would a coin grading company not verifiy this for me?I have to figure out how to post and what method to get the clearest picture on this forum any advice out there would be fantastic.
