Here are a few pics with some different lighting.

Grade and value would be appreciated.

Photos a little rough.I have to get a good camera.

My thoughts are VF/XF. Paid melt for it.

I'm with you leaning toward EF. Great get! Will some BadThad juice (aka Verdi-Care) or acetone get the crud spots off the reverse? Might be worth a try since it's obviously a circulated coin.

I'm leaning toward VF because of the flat parts of the hair on the obverse.

At melt you can't go wrong :)
Rest in Peace

I am leaning towards a mid VF grade. Looks like you did well for just melt!

What a coincidence, I sold a circulated 1934-S Peace dollar for a little under melt at a coin show on Sunday.
A nice deal you got Larry!
Rest in Peace

Larry,

I'm having a tough time telling how much wear is on her hair around her ear. The first picture seems to show a clear amount of wear, but the other shots seem to show some detail. If the first picture is a good representation then I can't see it being AU. I'll call it XF-40, but there are plenty of people here with vastly more experience grading these than me.

These are so difficult to grade when clean. This one's toning makes it harder to grade.

I provided three different lighting arrangements to show as many details and defects as possible.
