I sure would appreciate a few opinions on this recent purchase from those better at grading and more familiar with early US coppers than I am.
Intent of the purchase was to fill that *first* opening in my newly acquired 7070. This book has me hooked! For that prime slot I wanted a coin with a lot of detail; no significant problems like corrosion, environmental damage, or excessive cleaning; a uniform appearance; and common enough to be affordable. The coin was not graded in the listing, and the photos were on the dark side. Price ended up being somewhat over book value. I'm not sure what to think about the reverse toning, whether it's natural or not. It probably has been cleaned but it's pleasing to the eye and I am going to pop it in that hole where it will likely remain for the duration of this <expen$ive> project.
Thanks in advance for your input and for taking a peek.

I'm not good with this series but the eye appeal of this 1/2 cent is wonderful, I would be proud to put it in a type set album.

Wunderbar! It's a lovely coin, even with the small owie. I'd think she would come out EF! Thought of sending to a TPG?

I'm not really a fan of the coins-in-plastic thing that seems to have taken over certain segments of the hobby.
I may have to do that eventually when it comes time to un-invest, but for now it is just going to sit there teasing me to fill the holes next to it with specimens at least as attractive.
