Hello, I am currently new to this whole coin collecting hobby. Yesterday I found what appears to be a Tetradrachm Athena Greek Coin. I almost threw it out because I thought it was a old beat up button. I would like some more information on it and if anyone knows how much its worth. Thank You!

LenaCC720- Welcome!

So how did you find this coin? I don't want to be a pessimist, but a LOT of copies exist of this famous type of coin. So any information as to where you found it as well as details relating to the edge and weight would be greatly helpful.

hello everyone!
I found it in a supermarket actually. Some1 was cashing in their coins at a coinstar machine and this fell through to the bottom because it was not accepted. They didnt want it, so it looked interesting, and asked if I can have it. How can you tell if its a copy or not? Also I'm so interested in coins, my grandmother passed away 3yrs ago and was a coin collector, she gave me some pretty interesting stuff, hopefully I will learn more and post more pictures up soon.

Sadly, this coin is indeed a copy. The originals of this coin, a tetradrachm, were silver. This looks coppery.
