I was wondering what the market is currently like for the Lincoln Chronicles set. I checked ebay and it appears they are going for $120- $145. My son wants to let one of his sets go but does not want to do the ebay thing and is testing the waters.

I haven't looked in a long time but the last time I did that was the price range....so, apparently, it hasn't change in like 6 months or longer. Also, the last time I looked there were only like 7-8 sets on ebay, so it's not exactly flooded with sets anymore.

Maybe it's old age but what is a Lincoln Chroniclese set anyway? If I ever knew, I probably forgot.

Yea, 10 sets at any given time seems about right. These are fairly scarce, not many were made at 50,000. I'm sure these prices are at the bottom now because collector demand seems steady and the price hasn't moved.

I'll suggest he continue to sit on it for now or if he wants, I'll list it here.

I was sure hoping this Set would end up being one of those "had to have" kind of phenomena's. I mean it IS a "had to have" thing for "me".....but, you know, I wanted to see the price go way out there and not come back down ! Ahhh well... Maybe once we have ten years or so on this Set, it'll have risen to $250.00 or so. (Sadly that might be because of Silver and Copper prices though and not numimatic interest/demand !)

I have one. It is not currently, nor will it ever be, for sale.

Quote:I have one. It is not currently, nor will it ever be, for sale But that's why I got TWO OF THEM ! .... Just in case the price went crazy - and I needed the money. If the opposite holds true, I could always "gift" one to a YN daughter or nephew or something, and still cling on to the other one for dear life until it's pried from my cold dead hands ! ... I often get "two" of something in the coin arena......for the "just in case" reasoning......that way, I'll have a chance to still have something that I also have to sell.
