Unemployed and strapped for cash I was going to sell 40% halves at the coin show in town but (with the drop in silver by 1/4) I went a different rout. Today I sold a BU 1997 Roosevelt $5 commemorative for $850. It seemed a reasonable price for this coin I bought from the mint back in 1997. It was in the felt box but without the COA, was this a good price?

Sorry you had to let it go Muddler, but these things happen - especially given the current punch-drunk times we find ourselves "enjoying"....

There were no reasonably priced commemoratives in the show but I did a few upgrades for my walker set.

sounds like a good deal. And I know how you feel, I'm unemployed as well and I had to sell a bunch of my Morgans for a LOT less than book and a bunch of silver halves as well. But, my wife said I can replace them when things smooth out.
