Does anyone have one of these albums completed or started?
I really like Albums and I might be able to avoid having to buying another safe if I can put all this OGP in a box somewhere else.
If you have one please post a picture so I can see it.
I don't know if Whitman makes a similar book, but with the blue background, that would look great.

Here's the top of page one of Volume 1 of the Dansco 7065 which holds both MS and Proof coins. There are two volumes and you would also need to purchase a third 38mm (dollar) sized album to house them all. Luckily I have a complete set, but they are a tough get.... Paleoguy  |

Is there a type only album? I have a full type set but not a full set of proof and BU. My commemoratives are in their capsules and the mint boxes making it cumbersome to view more than a few at a time.

Complete - both MS and Proof through the Medal of Honor... Also complete set of modern halfs.... Now you can see why I'm gunning after the early commems... They are a logical progression.  I think the Dansco 7062 is MS only. |

That is what I need, Dansco 7065, I have both Proof and UNC. Do I have to have 3 albums to complete both the Proof and UNC? Could I add another dollar sized page to each of the two albums and longer screws? Thank you for the information

You will need the following to cover the entire set of Modern Commemorative Dollars (MS+PRF): Dansco 7065 - Which covers 1983-1994 Dansco 7066 - Which covers 1995-2001 Dansco 7177 - Which is a blank "Silver Dollar" album w/38mm holes. With the 2011 Medal of Honor MS&Proofs, there are only 10 holes left for future releases in the 7177. I can give you the Fonts for printing labels to match the Dansco album printing if you would need them. Here is a photo from the Dansco 7177 to show the labeling:  |

Glad I could be of help.... Good luck on the Modern Commems. That second volume is going to be painful with all the Atlanta Olympics issues.... but it's quite a sense of accomplishment when you fill that final hole... They are also a great investment too!

I am pretty far along. However, I doubt that I will complete the entire set. There are few of the coins that do not appeal to my eye and would distract a lot from the "theme" I was looking into doing. I may be better off using the 7177 and making the labels myself.
Of course you know I want to know what font you used? Also the paper you used looks like it was almost transparent. That really sets off the coins.

@GTALLEN ... Here's the info on the labels/font to match the Dansco album lettering:
The labels are 3M Permanent Adhesive CLEAR Shipping Labels (2"X4") 3500-T. They are the same size as Avery 18663/5163 Labels.
The font is Rockwell 8pt All Caps (1.4 separation) and Rockwell 8pt (1.0 separation). I use a scalpel to cut down the labels to fit under the coin once it's printed. I can get either four or six labels on each 2X4. Hope this helps.... Paleoguy

Thank you for the information. Your help and information has inspired me to create my own "Tribute" style album with my modern commemorative dollars. I am printing this page out so I have the information in hand. I guess Office Depot or Staples will have the clear labels. If not, I am sure I can order them on the net.
I have a wide assortment of exacto knives that I keep very sharp with an 18 degree edge and a three step sharping process. I think they should work to cut the labels. I also have a metal 6 inch rule to keep the label cutting straight.
I will see how it turns out and I might do the same for my modern halves and early commemoratives. I know that a complete album Proof and Unc is more valueable. But, I am wanting something more for me and making my own with the information you have provided will be of great value to me.

I have been hesitant from taking my proof commemoratives and placing them into albums without the protective plastic housings they came from the mint in. Proof coins seem to be subject to abrasions and prints more so than the uncirculated coins. Not having them in a album makes viewing the set beyond cumbersome with the volume of issues. Has anyone had good success in placing proofs into an album and not developed the abrasions or toning?

My Proof Franklin halves has not developed the horizontal abrasions. However, I completed the collection, then I placed them in the album. I try not move the slides. But, I have had to move the slides a few times to reposition a coin or two. Of course, the less is best would make sense. There maybe some product that would prevent the abrasion, with out the side effects of acidic composition. Maybe a wax of some type. Just throwing some ideas out. |

One thing I've found to minimize the potential of putting rim scratches on MS/Proof coins residing in a Dansco is canned air. After I slide out the top mylar sheet, I give the coin hole a blast of canned air, insert the coin in its new home and then blast the side of the mylar that's going to contact the coin with the air. It's a win/win. Not only are my Danscos dust/lint free - I also have a keyboard without beard hairs between the keys!  |
