Down a buck.

Gold also down, but much less as a percentage.

Anyone know why?

Maybe the witch didn't like all that talk going around last month about silver hitting $15 before the end of the year?

The U.S. dollar gained and the futures market fell. Just one of the basic economic values than will cause the ups and downs in the metals markets.

When the price rises again to the origional level, the Mint can ignore the fall and point to the RECENT PRICE RISE of silver and add to their price. Just kidding, They wouldn't do that.

I don't mean to be sarcastic here folks but, the Mint and others will charge whatever the going price of the metals market when THEY purchased the gold and turned them into coins. The Mint doesn't MAKE the gold or silver or platinum, they only Mint it. Perhaps in time we may see a reflection of the futures price but, not for a while.
