I'm somewhat split on the concept of getting these grab bags.

On the one hand, they are almost always coins someone else didn't want at some point and have certainly been searched through by someone, so I just get the feeling I'm being cheated...more out of principle than fact.

On the other hand, since these are things dealers or whoever just wants to get off their hands, they are usually priced so low so the overall value of its contents generally does exceed the price of the bag.

Thus, I'm split.

I've bought the grab several times, never really got anything worthwhile - I don't do it anymore!

I've never tried one - I prefer to know what I'm buying when it comes to coins.

I am not a fan of grab bags. I believe that all the good stuff would be picked out.

I'd be willing to try it out of cuiosity sake. Kind of like a Christmas present, and I love surprises. Don't think I'd be buying alot of them though.

I don't do American coin grab bags, but I do enjoy the world coin ones. Best one I ever bought I paid $25 for, and ended up with a $200 coin. :D I won't retell the story here though, I've probably told it a hunnerd times before.

This is how I started collecting, I was all over the place wondering where to start so when I came across Suncoinsliquidators on the bay. For unsearched 8oz silver bags, I figured this would work great, I knew silver was going up and I found lots of great coins. Silvers pretty much tripled sense then so I haven't bought any lately. But they do have a proof grab bag that you can find silver in. And the price is reasonable for great proof coins. I've bought about 5 of these proof grab bags, and never been disappointed. I'm glad I found them because their lots always were so better then others I've tried.
