There's a 40 SLQ coin lot on ebay right now with 3 1/2 days left that is already up to $225. There are 2 Type 1's in there and at least 2 bidders think at least one of them is a 1916 based on the price so far.

CD,
Maybe they think there is a 1916, but lately those have been selling right in the $230 range. So it could go up another $10-15 before it would be unusually high by recent sales standard.
Edit: By "those" I mean the 40 SLQ lots.

No 16 in that lot. Remember though, there are other slqs that could drive a high price, the 16 isn't the only valuable one.

Quote: yes you Moe! (didn't you just score a 1885 V? Just sick) My, my! So young, so angry! (Actually I've had the 1885 Liberty V nickel for a while. I just posted a picture of it when we were discussing the OP's new 1885, when he/she was concerned about authenticity.) No reason to hate.

"No 16 in that lot. Remember though, there are other slqs that could drive a high price, the 16 isn't the only valuable one." Nothing else in there caught my eye as being a key date. I did take a chance on one of their lots 2 last week as I needed a 1924D for my set. It turned out it was a 1924S (bottom right corner in pic) which I already had a PCGS VF-25 of but at least I can use it to fill the open hole in my Dansco with the real deal instead of a piece of paper that said I had the coin elsewhere. There was also a high grade 1919 (top right in picture) which is cleaned and toned black around the edges and has a deep gash and a punch mark that deformed the field on the right side. I just wish they would sell them in 10 or 20 coin lots which would allow more collectors to take a gamble on with higher than melt value to get coins they need out of the lot rather than 40 coin lots which it seems only high roller gamblers or silver melters go for. Seller auction pic.

All of the other SLQ 40 coin lots from the same seller ending at the same time were still at .99 cents while this one was up to $225 which led me to believe that someone had a hunch on this lot as having something special.
