looks odd not as wide as my 1998 and 2000 but there is definitely a spread. thoughts?

i figured but why such a wide spread I cant find anything on it and I have not found another like it

I think it's referred to as die wear and separation. I don't quite remember where I read it at, but it happens and causes the coin to appear to be a WAM but it isn't.

Designer's initials are a diagnostic. They are close on a WAM.

As die wear or are polished the grinding down of the surface results in the letters being further apart. One thing you can do is don't look at the separation of the A but look at the letters AME as a whole. On the Close AM the M will appear to be definitely closer to the A than the E. On the Wide AM the letters AME will appear to be evenly spaced.
