Going through my coins I have tossed aside for whatever reason, I came across this Galba. I must have thought this coin was a fake so I set it aside some time ago. Well, I guess its time to confirm my suspicions or discover that I was wrong. This is a Galba, RIC 186 or 189. The fabric doesn't look right and neither does the legend. The letters look wrong. I've attached the link to the wildwinds example. So what is your verdict?

I'd agree with your reasons for worrying - the surface looks porous and not as clean as one would like. The legend is also 'off' - it would be difficult to say too much about this though as judging by its thickness its been battered and compressed quite a lot.

I think its a fake and these examples are from the same cast:

The hair on the forehead fouling the 'C' in Caesar made them easier to spot.

What the four coins do show well is the lengths forgers will go to to differentiate the coins post casting.

Yes, they all look like they are from the same die. I sometimes forget to check the fakes lists before I post. Anyway, thanks for confirming what I already suspected.

I also think it's fake. For the same reasons that Bobby stated.
