Do you think the 2005 mint sets will be HOT because of the new nickels? I been toying with the idea of buying multiple sets and reselling them. I could kick myself last year for not doing that. Just trying to make a few $$$ here and there.

I think so becaue of all of the hype that the mint has put in these coins...

I'm selling a lot of my coins (new nickels...State Quarters...clad coins...etc) because I don't think they will be worth it in the long run...look at it this way...you have a MS 2005 Buff Nickel that the mint minted billions...or you have a 1931-S BU RED Cent...I know that there is a price jump but with this coin there is just over 800,000 minted.

I asked my dealer to watch when he goes to a show soon for a Proof IHC for me...I think it is better than a roll of SQ.

I'd never suggest anyone ever buy a coin for speculation but these just might constitute a good long term opportunity also. There have been no nice coins found and submitted to date and this is not extremely unusual for modern coins. Some years all the gems and most of the choice coins will come from mint sets. If this coin proves much nicer in the mint set it will be quite popular. This can occur with any of the quarters or other denominations also but so far it's just one dime, both sets of nickels and three of the quarters which are unaccounted for in nice condition.
Time don't fly, it bounds and leaps.

I am another that doesn't suggest buying for profit, but for short term potential, this one has all the signs of being popular. Of course, this is but my humble opinion.

If you have noticed the new design, the large field on the obverse has the potential for showing a lot of bag marks. The nickels that I have seen so far confirm this. So anyone who is collecting nickels in MS63 or above will have to go to mint sets.
