Has anyone here bought coins from China or Singapore, and have you had good luck with your purchases? I'm interested in a Chinese proof 12 Zodiac set coming a dealer in Singapore. I'm wanting it mostly just for collectible value. It would be about $50.00 including shipping. Good deal? Any advice? Thanks.

I have bought the 2012 dragon coins in plain silver plate and colour pad printed.
There cute and just for fun, probably not going to make a great deal of money on them if I decided to sell them, but they are just so cute.

I usually pay anywhere from $1.50 to $3.00 for the silver plated ones and $3.50 to $4.00 for the coloured, when trying to do ebay cheap bidding.
They can be bought outright for $10.00 each if you don't want to bid for them.

I have some good postage experiences and some bad ones, these coins are know for being sent in the cheap plastic capsules and about 60% of coins I get will have capsules smashed to bits. They send them in cheap bubble mailers with little protection and sometimes just wrapped in tissue. But I have found a really nice china guy who sends them in polystyrene Styrofoam and even puts the coins in cute silk gift bags to keep the coins safe and protected.

Zodiac coins from china are usually silver plated or gold plated which ones are you looking at.
If you can post a pic I will tell you what you should be paying for them.

I bought one of these to check out die making being used. They are nicely made but of NO INVESTMENT VALUE at all.

They are not actually silver but are silver colored.

Like any "nice looking" medal or coin of a non-numismatic nature, these coins will remain about as valuable as the metal from which they are made. Even at $1 or $2 each they are FULL PRICE and are unlikely to increase in value.

Hey, thanks for the info. I haven't decided yet what to do, but I know it will not be for an investment-just that I like them.

birdnest200888 is a notorious counterfeiter, please do not buy/support him.
