1953 Large And Small Date Quarter

So I was having a look at the 7 1953 quarters I found in a roll while hunting. One of them appears to be a large date while the rest are all small dates.

The 9 in the large date also has a die crack or something on the inside of the 9..you'll notice the extra bit of metal in there almost like doubling. I have no idea..

Interesting but I would suggest you look for more large dates to see if they all have this feature. Are you thinking that if you see this then for sure it's a large date? From what I remember, it's pretty easy to spot the difference in the two sizes.

Large date will also be no shoulder strap & small date with shoulder strap.

trust me there is a big difference between the 1 large date I found and the 6 small dates.
