Added 1931 P to my Mercury dimes. Again, sorry for the poor photo, I already had it in the flip before I photographed it. This makes 1,904 unique coins. And only 3 Mercury's left til I'm finished with that collection.

Did you mean you have 1,904 Mercury dimes or a total of all coins is that amount? Do you also have the 42/41 and the 42D/41? Micro S? Some put coins in Folders and many of them do not have a spot for those and some do. Are yours in an Album or Folder?

just carl: That's total coins. I have my mercs in 2X2s currently and will move to the Dansco once I'm finished. I haven't added varieties like the 42/1 yet to my 'need to complete' list, but I will likely once I've got regular issues covered.

Nice job! I just bought the rest of the commons today, all done, unless you count the overdates and micro s. I dont know if it's considered a full set w/o those overdates and the micro, but next tax season I might just buy them so theres no argument.

I don't consider them required for a full set, but most people probably include the micro S. I don't see why that one usually has a hole, but not other mint-mark varieties like the 1928 large-S, or the types of 1917 get no love. The micro S isn't hard though unless you're going for FB in MS-65 or something, so might as well fill that hole.

brew_crew, is that all done with commons? or all done with everything except overdate and micro? Meaning you have the 1916D.

Yeah, I'm all done with it except the overdates and the micro s. I had a thread a month ago about the 16d when I bought it. It got an AG3 grade, paid $511 after the grading and everything.

You're getting very close to the finish line! Congratulations on getting this far. It's exciting to get very close to completing a series. I'm only 3 away from my Buffalo nickel collection and know what you're experiencing. Let us know when it's complete.

The other two I may be waiting for a while. 1921 D and 1916 D in a respectable grade are a pretty big investment. One I'm not able to make right now. A couple sets are only a few away, Lincoln Cents, Liberty nickels, Mercury dimes, Walking Liberty halves, etc.

Nice.
I only have 3 more to go (1916D and the pair of 1921's) but my set is nowhere near as nice condition.
Congrats.
