Nice Franklin. Its got very nice bell lines, if not FBL. Thats always the key for me (unless there is killer toning).
My only concern would be the scratches on the obverse. Slmost lookes cleaned to me.

It would depend what the pricetag is in my opinion. Cleaned or not, the bell lines make it a good coin.

Nice coin! I think this is a MS-64. It looks like the coin just misses FBL.

Ever so close to a FBL.

I know this coin is not cleaned. I pulled it myself from the mint set. Was not sure about the bell lines. What makes you say not fbl. The top lines left of the crack or the bottom lines left of the crack. I know you are allowed a little weakness right at the crack but the weakness on the top lines might be a tad too much.

I'd go with a ms 62-63. The dings on the shoulder and temple are focal points, and the reverse strike isn't a very good one. A 64-65 I can read the bottom date line on the bell. The bottom line is what's keeping it from full bell lines...Still a beautiful Franklin, I love 'em, was my first dansco.

It looks FBL to me, TPGs usually allow a little space on either side of the crack for the bell lines to be incomplete.

Just curious, what are you on the fence about? While I also think it may have missed FBL by THIIIIS much, I like the strong strike (very nice for the 60's) and would consider it a keeper.

The bottom bell lines are what I have question about. The lines are there and with separation but they are not quite complete or should I say rounded. I have seen plenty of slabbed coins that are designated fbl and are not as good as these lines. My thinking was that they were fbl. Wanted some other opinions.
