Hi, I was wonering what the grade of this coin would be? It is made of iron and I know that a lot of these coins show some rust; mine does not so I was hoping maybe that would be worth a premium? Hopefully the pics are not too bad.

This type is a bit difficult to grade, not enough fine detail to go by. VF-20.

I agree, to grade a coin like this accurately, more details are better, so in a case like this I refer to the edges of the coin, as you know most wear on coins begin at the edges and work there way inwards, in the case of older coins such as this the sharper the edges the better and more pleasing the coin.
So in this case a grade of FINE would be my choice..

Thanks for the replies, my guess was F to F+, but I wasn't sure because of the lack of details and the fact that it is iron.

It's hard to tell if the coin has been polished, because rust forms on these rather easily.
The crown, to my eyes, suggests around VF.

This is no better than F, and the colour is not at all attractive - definitely looks manipulated. I am afraid this has been treated badly. That is, if the photograph shows the true colour. I have been fooled by pictures before.
