I have a 1952 D ben Franklin half dollar. There is a cresent type cut out in front of his face and on the reverse the cresent goes directly through the eagle. I don't have the best of cameras so don't think the reverse will be very clear. Is this worth anything extra besides the silver value?
And now I'm sorry but it won't let me upload a pic. Has anyone heard of such a coin?WHY WON'T IT LET ME POST A PICTURE?MY son was able to put some pics on for me, he's
a computer wizard, thanks Boog!

It is a pain to upload a pic until you get used to it. Instead try photobucket and copy/paste the IMG code. Also, check to see if your camera has a macro (looks like a flower) setting. This lets you take closeup pics.

Ditto the to both. Is one cresent indented and the other raised?
If so then it is damage.

It might be part of a deep clash from the reverse. There is a device on the opposite side of the reverse die that could form that?

Because of the mark being on both sides of the coin I agree with PMD.
