Am I missing something here? Weren't 1990 gold bullion coins in Roman numerals, as in "MCMXC?" That last digit looks like a truncated or grease filled "9." Yes, I agree there is nothing like the shine of a gold coin.

The tail of the last 9 blends in with the ray. From the angle and the way the light hits it, almost makes it disappear. Its a 1999.
