**(NEW PHOTOS ADDED!!) 7th reply**

Well since they passed a law saying I can't melt my own money, I gave it to Coinstar.

I brought in 140 bucks worth of BU Bison nickels that I thought had all been searched for Errors.

As this processes was taking some time, 3 little girls in line behind me said that some of my coins were rejected, wow...thanks girls!!!!!!

I pulled out a Bison with a 100% Improperly Annealed/Sintered planchet. This nickel is pure copper in color, looks like a cent but it's not from a cent blank. How the heck did I miss that, guess they weren't all searched!

Here's a link to Freds site with a 50 perecnt error, 100% is perferable.

http://www.fredweinberg.com/invento....asp?ID=4268

I'll post a photo later when I have some time.

Thanks again coinstar for gouging me with 8.9%, but kicking back me a couple hundred dollar coin, LOL.

Very cool. I have been going through many of theses nickles with no errors :(. I go to Commerce Bank to deposit them, no charge, but the bad thing is that these things take almost everything.

Hard to tell it almost looks like copperwash.
I have a big bunch of those buffalos that have color of nearly black and some I have with a copperish tint which are probably copperwashed.. The black ones are caused by being sintered during the minting process. I got tired of getting only 9 to 15 dollars for them so I quit selling them.

It seems to me in order to sell them they have to be authenticated to get any value from them. Fred has a reputation were he doesn't have to slab some coins. There is alot of forms of Improperly Annealed Planchets.

Mishap... I've seen ten of thousands of Bisons, some with various tints. This one stands out big time .... fully copper in color except one blackish spot that looks exactly like the tone in the certified example, and the copper color is the same as well. I have another example I found last year that had about one third copper color, but this 100 % is Awesome. I only have one so it's not for sale, will probably never be certified, but I found it and I know it is the real thing.

You say you have some darkish toned coins with a copperish hint, but do you have any like this with 100% copper color?

Happy searching.

I'm not too convienced.

I can probably do the same if I washed some dirty copper coins with some harsh chemicals and the residue will plate the nickel coin.

So.... I could care less if you are convinced.

Why would I waste my time making up a story about this...why are you wasting your time responding?

It is the real thing.

In your thread you refered to it as fully copper in color . The one on freds site has the nickel clad missing it appears to me and not copper in color. Is yours copper or copper colored? Does it appear the clad is missing ?

All my dark and copperwashed coins came out of alot of different bags from the mint and put in holders.

With fred and others that have websites that can post coins for sell can afford to let them sit there to hopefully in my opinion encourage others to either buy or promote a particular coin at certain price so they can sell others similar. It is viewed by some like having a car lot. Nothing wrong with it, it is just buisness.

Mishap ... nickels don't have clad layers.... Fred's coin has the same type of error as my coin, it's just that mine is 100%

Keep on seaching brand new BU rolls and you will find errors.

Enjoy

The image I posted was straight out of the camera as a raw image, no saturation added.

Here's a photo with some added saturation on the whole image, (both nickels).
