Bit of a long shot, but worth a try.....
I'm headed to Prague this coming Saturday - Tuesday, just wondering if there are perhaps any czech members who know of any coin shops/markets or perhaps antique/flea markets in Prague that might be worth a visit? www.kingstoncoincompany.co.uk

If he happens to remember anything that would be great! And as luck would have it, I'm in Krakow on the first weekend in November, so if he knows of anywhere there also that would be useful

Read this on another site: Quote:-I will be going to Prague in three weeks. I am a coin collector... I have not found any coin shops in Prague. Can anyone give me the name and address of coin shops in Prague. -Hello, the famous shop for coin collectors is at Parizska street. It is the street next to Staromestske Square. Here is the web: http://www.mince.czSee the map of Prague and find this shop: http://www.mapy.cz

And as luck would have it, I'm in Krakow on the first weekend in November, so if he knows of anywhere there also that would be useful Took a while since he has his own buisness and not a lot of time for his Dad I guess. As to flea markets in and around Praque or Krakow, he said they are nothing like around here that he ever saw. He said they are all over the areas in most cities but mostly are sort of home made items more like a craft show here. He spent a lot of time roaming around Praque and many of the other cities while there, mostly looking for girls, not coins, as most college kids do. He said he never did see a coin store anywhere but then again, not really looking for them either. He did go to many of the markets that were sort of like our flea markets but not with things like coins, knives, cameras, etc. just mostly things like food or home made items. In some areas they were almost like going back in time. As to possible antiques though you may find them in such markets. Priceas are really decent there on almost everything.

Carl, thanks so much for taking the time to ask for me. I'm not long out of college myself and going with Friends so will probably spend the nights out looking for fun and girls as your son did! But my day i'll try and track down any flea markets or similar, and I've got an idea whwre the shop in 10xloupes link is so will take a look.
If I turn anything up, i'll post it on here!

And remember that Krakow is a sort of college town so should be lots of fun around there. And as my Son mentioned you really don't need to be able to speak Polish since so many speak English there. Interesting joke he heard all over Poland was: What do you call a person that speaks 2 languages? Bilingual. What do you call a person that only speaks 1 language? An American.

Haha! Have to admit did get a laugh out of that one. And I think a Britain works as well as an American with that Joke. Prague was great - only coins I found tended to be overpriced and common types though. Looking forward to Krakow next weekend - should be good!

I have to say - Krakow is a fantastic city! Much preferred it on the whole to Prague. Great party city, and so cheap! People very friendly, really recommend the place for a visit.
And I did have a little success with coins - most the coin shops were a bit stale with quite limited and expensive stock, though just off the main square I found one exception. I picked up a few pieces, most notably a couple of Chinese Kirin Province 3 mace 6 Candareen coins for extremely reasonable prices. Thanks again for your help Carl.

Exactly why my Son always wants to go back there. Although he is now married with a kid, has his own buisness, he misses all that fun. There was a Castle there being rebuilt and he always wonders how it is coming along. The kids at the University of Krakow were involved in the process using CAD. Great place. My Son did send me coins while there and no idea where he got them from.

All, sorry to reanimate a zombie thread, but I will may be visiting Prague later this year... Anyone have an update to the question of Prague-based LCSs that might be an improvement over my google searching?

@jbuck, I know that you love breaking out that zombie emoji. The question still stands, though: can anyone recommend a Prague-based LCS?
