My most costly coin, and not at all easy to find as nice.
Forget the "book" value - throw out the Greysheet - I hold this in my hands as I click "Submit."

If my database is correct, this should be my rarest coin,
only 5000 made and worth about 40c. I wonder if they missed a few "000"
off the end.

My rarest coin would be a unique Belgian pattern 5 cent trial, with an early development of the final issued design.

Probably my most valuable is a gold stater of Philip 11 of Macedon, struck in the town of Pella, around 330 BC.

I have a 1978 Papua New Guinea 5 toea, 777 minted, but I don't think it would be valued at any more than $5.

My rarest/nicest/most expensive is my avatar of which there is only one known. Though as any collector of Roman Provincials knows it's easy (ish) to pick up a completely unique coin.

1982 Canada Constitution nickel dollar, struck on a thin planchet, medal axis. Possibly unique, all others known are struck coinage axis.

I also have this one, 1967 25-cent, pattern piece, struck in nickel. Catalogued as Charlton CH# DC-34, 10-12 known. Mine is ICCS graded MS-65 (tied for highest graded), and it is now off to PCGS, for a proper hard slab.

The most rare pieces are some R-9 Civil War Store Cards, lowest mintage is a 1864 Small Motto Proof, and most valuable single coin is probably a 1872 Two Cent Piece.

lots of 'neat' coins in the collection, I like this one because it was a random find in a bulk ebay lot.

mexico 1/8 real,

ZA countermark is common, 1/8 countermark not as common.

told BOTH on the same coin is a hard one to find. even in this condition worth $50. sorry for the crappy pictures
