OK, thanks. It's a Chinese company with offices in Texas. Guess that's OK. It was a Poor-1 Draped bust Large Cent, then he writes me offline wanting more. Told him to get lost.

That's too bad because you also loose out in selling to Canadians as well. I have tried to bid on coins selling in the usa, and I was blocked. I think there should be some more options for this.

The thing is by blocking Canada, especially on Canadian coins American sellers lose out on bids that can increase the end price of an auction. I sell to US as well and have met some very nice Americans. Likewise I've met real cool American seller, who at first were worried about shipping north. Once the did it once they were converts to selling to Canada!!

I have sold regularly for the past 5 years to a very nice member here from Nova Scotia. I'd do it again in a heartbeat as well as bought on ebay through Canadian members. Canada will be included in future ebay listings :-)

I just had an offer from someone in Australia. Despite, as far as I know my listing only being UK based. And that bit that says "UK buyers only, sorry" in the description. OK, the coin was originally sold through Noble in 2004. But for $100. Which is a bit more than the $64 offered!

How many people find buyers don't read the descriptions? I find it frustrating to write up a nice long description of the coin. Then buyer only reads the title! It's like why put forth the effort?
The other thing that bugs me is: under the description there's nothing about the coin, but I page or so on terms of sale. So coins I don't know weight of, whether it's silver the diameter and what it comes with. This is especially true if I'm not buying a Canadian coin. I like to have the info, so I can make a decision!!

I made a similar mistake myself some time ago. Didnt spot that the seller did not accept Paypal - only bank transfer. Me being in Oceania and the seller in US it was a problem, but I happened to have a load of US mint postage which he decided would be acceptable at 1.3 of cost - on a once only basis.

If I ship to Canada, I have to fill out a customs form. If I sell to a U.S. Address, I just put some postage on it and pop it in the mail slot. The U.S. bidder market is very large and I've not seen higher final prices out of items that also ship to Canada. Although I quite like Canadian coins, so I'm glad my friends to the north do not share in my laziness.

I find I can fill out a form, watching 3 commercials. Filling out a CN22 is no big deal.
Funny thing I find most of my best deals in Canadian coins in the states. I buy at least half of my coins from Americans. It's like you guys have a stock pile of silver Canadian circulation coins. I doubt we have as many US circulation coins.

I have in the past had packages shipped to a friend in US who then forwards to me.
Also some overseas PO's have receiving 'post boxes' in foreign countries where you can get goods shipped to and forwarded on. In some cases they will also collate several consignments into one parcel to save costs
