Anything before about 1800. That means milled, hammered and ancients.

What do you mean favorite? I like Japanese and (pre-1940s) Dutch coins, because they're almost always very beautiful. I like Mercury dimes, for the same reasons, but they're much more expensive because they're silver. I'm not sure if there's any coins I like for something that is not "being beautiful" (which is more about the design than anything else). Maybe "being old" is close enough (even so, I prefer pretty-looking old coins to those that are very ugly).

The 1935 Canadian dollar. It's my favorite obverse design of any coin I own. I love the detail and symmetry in the crown and face. Unfortunately , they only used it for that year.

I prefer German coins minted between 1750 and 1850 and to be honest, many minors and fractionals are far more interesting to me as large Thalers and Doppelthalers.

Anything with nice toning. Morgans are my favorite but most anything with a nice tone will call to me.
And it usually says "Buy me, buy me".

Coinfrog, that is a stunning example of a vbs! Love the toning! Carl, do you have a thread with better pics of your FSB Mercs? I would love to drool on my keyboard for a while.

@Chute72, that would be my second favorite date/mm Morgan series.

Since I'm from the Rock(Newfoundland) my favourite so far would be my only coin from there, my 1941 Newfoundland 10 cent. It was given as a gift.

Tough question to answer. I like so any of the early US coins (I collect only US coins). The Capped Bust series is probably my favorite, as well as the Classic Head cents & Half Cents. If I had to narrow it to just one, I guess I would have to go the entire Capped Bust Dimes series. I like the later years, after 1828, when the mint went to the open collar molds as the strikes were so much better.

My favorite coins are any I can aquire on any particular day ! Most proud of ....prolly my LWC/LMC with Proofs Dansco 8100...my Jefferson with Proofs Dansco 8113...Sacagawea's with Proofs...Washington Quarters with Proofs 8140....Roosevelt with Proof 8125....Kennedy half with Proof 8166.... And many other sets too....I've had to sell stuff in the past, but holding on to these as long as possible ! But...I get a lot of satisfaction just finding a Wheat cent or War Nickel from circulation...it's a high that lasts awhile too ! Especially with a non-existent budget for buying coins these days... C.R.H. provides that passion and thrill.

My favorite changes over time... Currently it is any series that crosses over into the clad era (Kennedy, Washington quarter, Roosevelt dime, etc.) and modern silver dollars. In a couple years, who knows...
