It looks like a typical coin for the grade and date. I would put the value at $50 with shipping included. For $65 you should be able to get a MS 63.

IMHO, not a bargain price at $65. The reverse is beautiful, but the obverse is baggy.
How about putting that $80 credit toward a coin book or two?

If you like the coin make the owner an offer not sure if Amazon allows that but I make offers all the time on ebay even for buy it now without offers turned on. Just send a email to the seller and low bid a little never offer what your willing to pay up front but a little less. If I am willing to pay $50 I might offer $45 Edited by jaxenro

Toning is natural but the coin is overpriced by $20 or so.

If I can talk him down to $55 I'll go for it. This fits a couple things I've been looking for, for my collection, a Morgan dollar, a graded stabbed coin, a New Orleans minted coin, and an eye appealing toned coin. Plus I really like the rims on this one lol. Edited by Alex12780

I think it's overpriced, but it also looks like some nice clashing going on, check the VAM on it? I see clashing on Obverse and Reverse. Nice coin though. |

I don't know maybe not clashed, is that a clash mark where they are normally found, at the top of the neck and between the left wing and wreath?

They emailed back and said that they are not going to drop the price. I was looking at their other Morgan's for sale and all seem to have a variation of gold rims and a very clear and bright face and obverse. They are all just about the same coin just different years. Odd. And they're all graded ms-62

Alex, move on there are plenty of quality Morgan coins available in common dates that will meet your criteria for the price you want to pay.

Here is one on ebay 1898 O MS63 with some rim toning that looks semi proof like that mabey could pass for MS64 for best offer of $69.00 that you may be able to pick up for $55. There are plenty of these for this date. 291925099031 |

I know I should always be buying the coin and not the slab, but I'm still uncertain whether or not I want PCGS or NGC. I like the look of NGC slabs but I've read PCGS grades are more "conservative and reliable".
