Obverse better struck than average, reverse typical weak strike. AU-58. Lovely example. Congratulations.

Let us see your SLQ selection before you buy it and we can offer opinions on grades and originality.

Yours certainly is a beauty. I only modern coin designs were on a par with this one, I would likely want to collect modern stuff as well.

A beauty indeed! Adolph Weinman designed this and the Mercury dime. Certainly among my favorite designs in US coinage. This seems like a great specimen.

How far along are you in the type set collection?

They sure don't make 'em like they used to.

They do. At least the obverse and just as bullion.

Sounds like a nice start! Are you going for a type set of all US coins? I know a number of CCF members have done this, some putting them in a Dansco 7070 album. Just curious what your collecting goals are. Such a thing seems a bit daunting to me.

I would like all major type US coins and subtypes that I can. However, I'm not going to fool myself. Not going to get a Dansco 7070 because all the holes will be depressing. I'm going to focus on beauty and learning the history behind the coinage. That's what hooks me. SLQ and a nice Peace dollar. Fractional currency interests me. 2 cent piece to go along with my Shield nickels...that shield on the reverse. Also, live the barber designed coins, although they look stark besides the Walking Liberty, but they look at home with all my Liberty nickels.

Walking libery half if one of the most beautiful silver coins of 20 century was in change. The second one for my opinion is SLQ.

Been working on mine nearly 25 years now. Just two holes left. It has been worth it.

I concur that the Walking Liberty is a beautiful design, followed by the SLQ, with the Peace right behind. Decision made. SLQ and Peace are my next purchases.
