Getting to be a very long shot now. Nearly 60 years since silver was issued into circulation.

Quote: Found a 1963 and a 1956 quarter while searching thousands of coins from vending machines in the past month. Excellent!

Couple of years back a 1961-D quarter left at a car wash near the coin acceptor. Apparently it wouldn't go through so the person just left it there.
LOL.

Always looking for a 1965 silver dime to go with my 1965 silver quarter. Both were transitional errors, for those not aware of their existence.
I know I will never find one, but it's fun watching pocket change anyway.
LOL.

I'm oh for 2024 so far. Haven't found any in a handful of half dollar boxes either.

DoubleEagle20: That must have been what "The Great American Coin Hunt" was all about with the W Quarters!

About ten years ago or so, I found a 1957 Roosevelt dime in my change back from the store. That was quite unexpected. About twenty years ago, my Dad got a Mercury dime in change. I can't remember what year or mint mark it was, but I still have it. When my Mom used to work at Speedway when I was a kid, she used to occasionally get a Franklin half or Walking Liberty half dollar. ..Beyond that, basically never. Lol. About two months ago, I did find a 1942 - P War Nickel that was really worn.

As I said way back, I used to find them from rolls—but that was thirty years ago. Quote:About two months ago, I did find a 1942 - P War Nickel that was really worn. Excellent!
