Can't see any letters of Liberty in the headband and 1892 doesn't appear to be a Lincoln date...other than that, Nice AU55, I would put that in my Barber Album anytime.

Hey Duke! THAT's Funny!! But seriously, that's a nice looking 1911 Lincoln. I concur wih what seems to be the consensus grade, AU-55.

The wear above the ear is the most apparent. 55, possibly 58. One thing is sure, it's very handsome!

I don't see any wear, but the coin has not been stored properly for it's whole life and it's been handled a bit. The obverse "wear" is due to the die IMO. Look at how the L in LIBERTY has merged with the rim, atypical on this year. Also, the obverse motto is not sharp.
I may change my mind in hand, but I'm going against the grain here based on the pictures.
MS-61/62 at best

[...] I've seen that top of the ear look before. I've got a very nice VDB in RB with that same, indistinct look; however, unfortunately, the cheek and jaw have a very slight touch of wear on them, unlike on this coin, so, I'd always just chalked that up to wear, as well. That never sat quite right with me, though, I have to say. Translate that as, I may have learned something, here.

It was sold as UNC and in hand there doesn't appear to be a break in the luster. Quite frankly I was surprised of the AU grades.
However the luster is pretty subdued. Its there but not very impressive. That may be a result of the way it was stored/handled as Thad points out.
There does appear to be some dirt/grime on it.
Thad do you think this one might do well to take a quick acetone bath?

I don't think acetone will help. If anything, try a soak in distilled water followed by xylene. However, I doubt you'll see much difference....you may want to just leave it alone. I like it how it is.

There is some luster on it when you roll it around in the light. Like I said in an earlier post its subdued.

Acetone - no.
The coin is AU, probably a 55 considerig the hit on the luster by the stuff on the reverse, and the overall lack of "life" on the obverse.
